DRAFTING GUIDELINES

 

Formatting

Authors of abstracts to be published in the Conference Programme Booklet before the Symposium and of conference papers to be published in the Conference Proceedings after the Symposium (oral presentations and posters) are requested to adhere to the following editorial instructions.
All Manuscripts (Ms) are conceived in Helvetica on Microsoft Word. No handwriting nor typewriting will be accepted.

Lay-out

Title Font size is 16, in bold, capitalized and centrally aligned.
The name of authors and their affiliation (institution, E-mail) in Font 12, bold, lower case and centrally aligned. Leave one blank line between title, author(s) and affiliation.
Keywords (maximum 6) are in lower case, Font 12 and separated by commas. The word “Keywords” is written in bold. The 6 words following are in standard format.
The Résumé (in bold) follows in Font 8. Maximum 6 lines (in standard).
From this point onwards, all texts remain in Font 10.
All section headings (Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results etc.) are in bold and underligned. Any evental secondary headings are bold and italic. A one line space is left between paragraphs.

Illustrations

Figures, tables, graphs and small maps are black line drawings. Photographs are black and white and contrasting. No colour images will be inserted.
All figures and photos are cited in the main text. They are listed numerically. Other illustrations are avoided.
All latin names are written in italics. Do not insert page numbers. The complete formatted paper presented at the symposium with all illustrations and references should not exceed 8 A4 pages. The complete Ms of a Poster does not exceed 4 pages. All abstracts are presented on a single A4 size paper.

Bibliography

All references appear at the end of the paper. They are not numbered.
References are listed in alphabetical order by the surname of the first author and by the year of publication (oldest publication first in case of 2 or more references of the same author). All names of co-authors are fully written out in the list of references. Only the first author followed by et al. and the year of publication is indicated in the main text (e.g. Dupont J., et al., 2010).
Do not leave lines between the references cited. Use a hanging indent of 10 mm for the second and succeeding lines of the same reference.

Contents of Abstracts to be published in the Conference Programme Booklet

Abstracts of papers and posters should be structured as follows :
- Title of abstract
- Name of Author(s)
- Institution and E-mail address of author(s)
- Keywords
- Main text containing succeedingly, if appropriate, the 4 following pa- ragraphs : Location of project, Materials & Methods, Discussion, Conclusion,
- eventually : Acknowledgements.

Contents of Papers to be published in the Conference Proceedings

Papers and manuscripts of posters presented at the conference should be edited according to the following structure plan :

- Title of paper or poster
- Name of Author(s)
- Institution and E-mail of author(s)
- Keywords
- Résumé (6 lines maximum in Font 8)
- Main text containing succeedingly the following chapters (if applicable) :
- Introduction & Project location,
- Materials and Methods,
- Discussion,
- Conclusion.
- Aknowledgements (if applicable)
- Bibliographical references.

Transfer of Copyright

The authors are requested to obtain all necessary approvals prior to submission of their Ms. This applies to research findings, illustrations and photographs by third parties.The Copyright Transfer Agreement is to be signed and
returned by E-maill or letter to the Conference Editor.

Maximum Size : A.0 (84 x 120 cm)
Minimum Size : A.1 (84 x 60 cm)

Language : English

Poster contents

- Title
- Author(s), affilation, address
- Project Location
- Methodology
- Results
- Discussion
- Conclusion.

Lay-out

Font-size : Title : 60 points
Text : 16 points

Text about 1/3 of poster space

Use visuals and colour : graphs, little maps, colour photographs

Add legends to all graphic illustrations

All illustrations are numbered according to the order in the text.
